Class A fire hoses have a diameter of 1.5 inches and can deliver between 60 to 150 gallons of water per minute. They are mostly used for ordinary fires like those involving wood, paper, and cloth.

Class B fire hoses are larger with a diameter of 2.5 inches. They can deliver between 100 to 250 gallons of water per minute and are used for fires that involve flammable and combustible liquids like gasoline, oil, and petrol.

Class C fire hoses are specialized hoses that are used for electrical fires. They are made of non-conductive materials and are designed to prevent electrical currents from reaching the firefighter.
